Making known the will of the Lord
concerning the Twelve Show unto us thy will O Lord concerning the Twelve. |

However, B. H. Roberts
observes: |

direction is given that they
should be officially notified of their appointment. But it is quite evident
that Elder Taylor was notified of his appointment previous to July 8th,
1838, as he would up his affairs and prepared to leave Canada, because of
his being informed of this call to the Apostleship in the fall of 1837. |

Verily, thus saith the
Lord: Let a conference be held immediately; let the Twelve be organized;
and let men be appointed to supply the place of those who are fallen. |
