3	March 1829	2	30	God's work cannot fail though prophets may fall. Joseph feared man, transgressed God's law. Trusted "a wicked man" (Martin Harris) §. Plates were preserved so testimony of the Nephites might convert the Lamanites §.
4 »	February 1829, Harmony	3	31	For Joseph Sr. Serve the Lord, all willing are called §, the field is white, thrust in your sickle, eye single to the glory of God. Ask, knock.
5	March 1829, Harmony	4	32	Martin wants proof. Joseph is the proof. May not show plates without permission. Joseph's only gift is gift of translation §. After ordination, preach. Three witnesses to be called §. They will be empowered to see by the Spirit and hear God testify from heaven. If world won't accept their testimony earth will be scourged until empty §. Joseph not to yield to enticements of men §. Martin may see if he humbles himself, otherwise he will be condemned §. Cease translating for a time §. Enemies lie in wait to kill Joseph §.
6	April [7–30], 1829, Harmony	5	8	Great and marvelous work. All willing are called §. Ask, knock, receive. Seek wisdom, not riches. Declare only repentance. Oliver to use his gift to learn the mysteries. Lord reassured Oliver on the night he prayed for it. Like Joseph, he can translate ancient records, including those that have not yet been revealed.
7	April [7–30], 1829, Harmony	6	33	Jesus grants John his wish not to die. He will live on earth, preaching Jesus returns. John's wish is better than Peter's, which was to to go to heaven with Jesus right away. John will be like a ministering angel to heirs of salvation on earth. Peter, James, and John have the keys of this ministry until the second coming.
8	April [7–30], 1829, Harmony	7	34	Oliver has the gift of revelation § and the gift of working with the rod §. He is to ask about the mysteries of ancient records and the Lord will reveal them to him §
9	April [7–30], 1829, Harmony	8	35	Because Oliver Cowdery stopped translating to write for Joseph, he should continue in that capacity. He may help translate other records in the future. Oliver thought all he had to do was ask, and the Lord would give him the translation. Following the proper protocols guarantees only inspired translations can be done.
10	May, 1829, Harmony	9	36	Book of Mormon manuscript pages lost. Joseph lost his gift, now restored. Pray to conquer Satan, escape his servants §. Satan's servants and Martin tried to destroy Joseph §. Satan inspired them to change text §. Satan's persuasion techniques §. Cannot always tell the wicked from the righteous §. Plates of Nephi not condensed §. Book of Mormon purpose to convert Lamanites to the gospel §. Other nations to occupy this land blessed; Nephites blessed them §. Lord's church to be established §. Church is those who repent and come to the Lord—nothing more nor less §.

18	June [1–14], 1829, Fayette	15	43	Revelation in response to Oliver's query. What he has written is true. Joseph baptized you as I commanded him. Oliver and David have the same calling as the apostle Paul §. Mission of Jesus Christ. These are my words, so you can say you have heard my voice §. Twelve disciples §. Show them this revelation. They are to declare repentance and baptism, ordain priests and teachers, keep commandments.

20	April 10 , 1830	24	2	Church organized April 6, 1830 by God's command. Joseph and Oliver called of God, ordained apostles and first and second elders of the church. Joseph became entangled in sin, repented and was visited by angel who gave him power to translate Book of Mormon §. We, the elders, heard and bear witness to the words of the Lord §. God is all power, understanding, through transgression man becomes devilish. The Only Begotten §. Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are one §. Justification and sanctification §. Qualifications for baptism §. Duties of apostle/elder §, priest §, teacher §. Ordination according to gifts of candidate §, licenses §. Years of accountability §. Procedures and prayers for baptism § and sacrament §. Conferences, membership rolls §.

Full-time church service. Not physical labors §. Oliver to continue preaching §, promised unprecedented strength §. Don't require miracles except as commanded §. Curse enemies, dust feet against them §. Legal opponents to be cursed §. Church to support financially.
25 »	July [4–31], 1830	26	48	Emma elect lady, not to murmur because of things she has not seen; comfort Joseph; be substitute scribe while Oliver is gone; be ordained to expound the scriptures and exhort the church; compile a book of hymns.
26 »	July [4–13], 1830	27	49	Joseph, Oliver, and John Whitmer are to study the scriptures, preach, confirm members at Colesville, and farm as needed until the next conference. Church to be managed by common consent, prayer, and faith.
27 * »	August, 1830	28	50	Don't buy sacrament wine from enemies. Produce your own. Soon I will drink with you. Added in 1835: Soon I will drink with you and Moroni §, other prophets and patriarchs. John the Baptist, in the spirit of Elias, ordained Joseph and Oliver to the first priesthood §; Elijah committed the keys of the turning of hearts §. Promises remain to patriarchs §. Peter, James, and John ordained you apostles §. I have given you keys of the last dispensation §. Put on the armor of God §.
28 *»	September [20–26], 1830	30	51	Joseph as Moses, Oliver as Aaron. Joseph has the keys of mysteries and revelations. Oliver to the Lamanites. A city to be built. Oliver to privately tell Hiram Page that he has been deceived by Satan. All by common consent.
29 †»	September [20–26], 1830	29	10	Sins forgiven, sin no more. Gather §. Wicked to burn §. Twelve Apostles to judge Israel §, then resurrection. But first, signs in heaven §, destruction, plagues §. Great and abominable church to be cast down by fire §. Men deny God after millennium, final destruction §. New heaven and earth §. Michael's trump starts resurrection §. Wicked to everlasting fire §. Spiritual creation before temporal creation §. All spiritual to the Lord §. Adam created to be an agent unto himself, succumbed to temptation, cast out of the garden §. 31 »	September [26–28], 1830	34	53	Thomas B. Marsh is called on a mission. Family issues.
32 * °	October [1–17], 1830	—	54	Parley P. Pratt and Ziba Peterson to join Oliver Cowdery and Peter Whitmer Jr. on the mission to the Lamanites.
33 °	October [18–31], 1830	35	55	Ezra Thayer and Northrop Sweet are called to declare the gospel to a crooked and perverse generation. Gather the elect
34 »	November 4, 1830	36	56	Orson to preach. Prepare the way for second coming. Catastrophes. Orson to prophesy by the Holy Ghost.
35 *	December [7–11], 1830	37	11	Sidney, like John, prepared the way for Elijah, without knowing it. Baptized unto repentance, but not Holy Ghost. Cast out devils, heal. Lord calls the weak. He will "let fall the sword in their behalf." Joseph has the keys of the mysteries. If he doesn't abide in the Lord, another will replace him. Sidney to be Joseph's scribe. Satan will tremble, Zion rejoice.
36 »	December [11–15], 1830	38	57	Edward to preach. Sidney to lay on hands for Holy Ghost, then shout Hosanna. Others to be ordained and preach. Lord quickly to temple.
37 **	December [30], 1830	39	58	Suspend translating until Ohio "because of the enemy." Visit Colesville church. Gather in Ohio until Oliver returns.
38 **	January 2, 1831	40	12	Land of promise, riches, eternal inheritance. Lord will rule. Move to Ohio for the Lord's law, power. Sell, rent, sacrifice New York properties. Be clean, united, meek.
39 **	January 5, 1831	41	59	James Covill—be baptized, preach, go to Ohio, gathering, watch for signs of second coming (near).
40 ***	January 6, 1831	42	60	James Covill gladly received the commandment, but Satan tempted him, feared persecution, rejected the word.
100	October 12, 1833	—	94	Joseph and Sidney are on their way to Mount Pleasant, Upper Canada (Ontario). Their families are well. The spirit will give them what they need to say at the right moment. Sidney is Joseph's spokesman and scriptorian, Joseph is his revelator. Zion will be redeemed, the Lord will raise up a pure people.
