I. H. Bishop tried to use their house as collateral |

Lyman Sherman's complaint dated October 6,
addressed to the president of the church, charges I. H. Bishop for "suffering
to be distroyed an article of agreement … concerning the lot
and house upon and in which we both now reside" and trying to use the
property as security on his own debts. |

Bishop pleads not guilty "to a part." |

Four counselors assigned to speak. Witnesses testify Isaac
H. Bishop [249] "was in the wrong." |

Decision: withdraw
fellowship until security provided |
|
President decides "that the fellowship be withdrawn from
said Bishop untill he shall make Brother Sherman satisfaction with as good
security as he had before." Council unanimously "sustained the same." |
