E. McLellin met Joseph at the conference in Orange a few days earlier
(Minutes of October 2526, 1831) and
traveled to Hiram with him on the 29th. William is not completely clean, needs to repent §. Go east on a mission. Take Samuel H. Smith and do not forsake him; do not return until the Lord directs §. Do not commit adultery, as tempted §. William a descendant of the biblical Joseph's son, Ephraim §. |

¶ This revelation give great joy to my heart because some important questions were answered which had dwelt upon my mind with anxiety yet with uncertainty— |

This day the Lord condecended to hear my prayr and give me a revelation of his will, through his prophet or seer (Joseph)— |

And these are the words which I wrote from his mouth, saying, |

Lord unto my servent William E. Mclelin blessed are you in as much as you have turned away from your iniquities & have
received my truths saith the Lord your redeemer the saveiour of the world <even> of as many as believe on my name |

blessed are you for receiving mine ever[la]sting truths Covenant even
the fullness of my gospel sint forth unto the Children of men that they
might have life & be made partakers of the glories which was <are> to be revealed
