Minutes of September 1, 1831
Newel K. Whitney is ordained church agent. Two elders are silenced and one priest returns his license. All three had attended the June 3 conference when the the "man of sin" revealed. Ezra Booth reports that no one left the church as a because of the conference (¶ Ezra Booth Letters (2), but I wonder about these three—this is the first Kirtland conference since June, and so far as I can tell none of the three are mentioned again in church records. Coincidentally, Ezra Booth arrived on the day of this conference (¶ Ezra Booth Letters (7), but is not named as present.
