Conference of March 19, 1833
Six missionaries return to Kirtland. Their motives are questioned. One is rebuked for having no special business in Kirtland and not paying board. All to raise funds for Kirtland's poor.

Motives of returning missionaries   Conference is called to inquire into the "motives" of Doctor Hurlbut, Joseph Wood, George Gee, Daniel Copley, William Pratt, and Isaac H. Bishop in returning to Kirtland from their missions.    
Private business   They say the came to settle "private business to prepare the way for them to go forth to proclaim the Gospel."    
Want to know the will of the Lord   Daniel Copley: "came to know the will of the Lord concerning him."
George Gee: "also said he came to know the will of the Lord and to do some business."
Doctor Hurlburt: "also said he came to obtain information."
Isaac Bishop: "also arose and said he came for information and desired to know his duty."
   
Decisions   After prayer, the council decides:
Doctor Hurlbut and Daniel Copley to travel together to the East.
Joseph Wood and William Pratt may settle their business before proceeding.
   
George Gee rebuked

All to raise money for the poor in Kirtland
  However, after learning that George Gee "had no special business was sharply reproved and desired not running to Kirtland not having any business without paying for his bo[a]rd and that all who go forth to proclaim use their influence to procure relief for the poor in Kirtland."
