" Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.
For every one of the house of Israel, … which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, … and cometh to a prophet to enquire of him concerning me;
I the LORD will answer him by myself: And I will set my face against that man, … and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel."
Ezekiel 14:6–9.
Joseph's revision (made between July 1832 and July 2, 1833): "And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I, the Lord, have not deceived that prophet;

The Holy Ghost was poured out upon us in a miraculous
manner many of us in a miraculous manner, many of our number prophesied, others had the heavens opened
to their view, and whilest several were so overcome that we had to lay them on beds, &c. |
|
Much exhortation and instruction was given; and the Holy Ghost was poured out upon us in a miraculous manner many of our number prophecied, whilst others had the Heavens opened to their view, and were so overcome that we had to lay them on beds, or other convenient places: |

Newel Knight |

Amongst the rest was the aforementioned Brother Newel Knights, who was overcome, and laid on a bed because he was unable to help himself— |

according to his own relation of his own experience, He could not understand why we laid him on the bed, he felt <no sensibility of weakness>, his heart <was> filled with Love, Glory & pleasure unspeakable, and could, (as he thought) discern all that was going on in the room, |
|
By his own account of the transaction, He could not understand why we should lay him on the bed, <as> he felt no sensibility of weakness. He felt his heart filled with love, with glory and pleasure [42] unspeakable, and could discern all that was going on in the room, |

of the futurity burst upon him. He saw there <represented> the great work which
through my instrumentality was yet to be accomplished. |
