The church in Missouri is divided into four branches.

Purpose   … for the purpose of dividing the Church on the land of Zion, into branches for the better convenience of holding meetings & organizing the Church &c.   This appears to be the first use of branches instead of churches.

  In the original, these four are listed as "Present." It is curious that Harvey Whitlock is grouped among them, regardless of title.

Vote on branches   After "considerable consultation," conference votes to number branches in each township "as they are set off."    
    "For the time being" the "Disciples" in Kaw township and those who settle on sections 25, 26, 27, 28, 33, 34, 35, and 36 will be branch "No. first."    
    Those on sections 29, 30, 31, 32 will be the second branch.    
    Those in the second township (sections 1–24) will be "branch no. 3."    
    Those in the Blue township will also be a branch.   Whitmer settlement.
