August 7, 1831, Jackson county, Missouri.
Blessings for those who come to Zion for the glory of God. Love the Lord, serve neighbors, don't steal, etc., broken heart and contrite spirit. Everything on earth made for man, to be used responsibly. God expects gratitude, obedience.

Saints who come to Zion for glory of God are blessed 1 [1] Behold bleSsed Saith the Lord are they who have come up unto thiS land with an eye Single to my glory according to my commandmentS    
Shall inherit the earth, crown of glory 2 [2] for them those that live Shall inherit the earth & them those that die Shall reSt from all their labourS & their workS Shall follow them and they Shall receive a crown in the manSions of my Father which I {which} have prepared for them   Turquoise: dropped after 1835

Rewards of the earth 3 [3] yea bleSsed are they whoSe feet Stand upon the land of Zion who have obeyed my goSpel for the[y] Shall receive for their reward the good things of the earth   Purple: dropped in 1833
    [4] & it Shall bring forth in her its Strength    
Blessings and commandments 4 [5] & they {all} Shall alSo be crowned with with [sic] bleSSingS from above    
    [6] yea & with commandmentS not a few    
    [7] & with revelationS in their time    
    [8] they that are faithful & diligent {befo} before me    
Commandment: 5 [9] Wherefore I give unto them a commandment Saying thuS    
Love God   [10] Thou Shalt love the Lord thy god with all thy heart with all thy might mind & Strength    
Serve in Jesus' name   [11] & in the name of JeSuS chriSt thou Shalt Serve him    
Love neighbor 6 [12] thou Shalt love thy neibour aS thy Self    
Don't steal   [13] thou Shalt not Steal    
Sexual sins   [14] neithe[r] commit adultry nor kill nor do anything like unto it    
Don't steal 7 [15] thou Shalt {not Steal neither} thank the Lord thy god in all thing[s]    
Sacrifice 8 [16] thou Shalt offer a Sacrafice unt[o] the Lord thy god in righteouSneSs    
Broken heart, contrite spirit   [17] even that of a broken heart & a contrite Spirit    
Pray, offer sacraments on Sabbath 9 [18] And that thou mayeSt more fully keep thySelf unSpoted from the from the [sic] world thou Shalt go to the houSe of prayer & offer up thy Sacrements upon my holy day    
Rest, worship on Sunday 10 [19] for verely thiS iS a day appointed unto you to reSt from your laborS & to pay thy devotionS unto the moSt hig[h]    
Every day 11 [20] NevertheleSS thy vows Should shall be offered up in righteouSneSS on all dayS & at all timeS   Orange: added in 1833

Especially Sunday 12 [21] But remember that on thiS the Lords day thou Shalt offer thine oblationS & thy {Sact} SacrementS unto the moSt high ConfeSsing thy Sins {&} unto thy brethren & before the Lord    
No work except meals 13 [22] & on thiS day thou Shalt do none othe[r] thingS only let thy food be prepared with SingleneSs of heart that <thy> faStingS may be perfect or in other wordS that thy joy may be full    
Fasting and prayer, rejoicing and prayer 14 [23] verely this iS faSting & prayer or in other words rejoicing & prayre    
Cheerful, but not too jovial 15 [24] & inaSmuch aS ye do theSe thingS with thanksgiving with cherful hearts & countenanceSs not with much laughter for thiS iS Sin but with a glad heart & a cheerful countenance    
All the earth for you 16 [25] verely I Say {unto} that inasmuch aS ye do thiS the fulneSs of the Earth iS yourS    
    [26] the beaStS of the field & the foulS of the air & that which climbeth upon the treeS & walketh upon the Earth    
For food 17 [27] yea & the herb & the good thingS which come of the Earth whether for food or for raiment or for houSeS or for barnS or for orchards or for gardenS or for vineyardS    
All made to benefit man

Please eye, gladden heart
18 [28] yea all thingS which come of the Earth in the SeaSon thereof iS are made for the <benefit &> uSe of man both to pleaSe the eye & to gladen the heart   Turquoise: dropped after 1835

Food, clothing, smell, enliven 19 [29] yea for food & for raiment for taSt[e] & for Smell to Strengthen the body & to enliven the Soul    
Use with judgment 20 [30] & it pleaSeth god god [sic] that he hath given all theS[e] things {u}unto {to}man [31] for unto thiS end were they made to be uSed with Judgment not to exceSs neither by extortion   By extortion?
God expects gratitude, obedience 21 [32] & in nothing doth man offend god or againSt none iS hiS wrath kindled Save thoSe who confeSs not hiS hand in all things & obey not his commandments   Orange: added in 1833 (Book of Commandments)
Law and prophets say so 22 [33] behold thiS iS according to the law & the prophetS    
Don't bother me any more about it   [34] Wherefore trouble me no more concerning thiS matter    
Righteous rewarded with peace on earth, eternal life 23 but learn that he who doeth the workS of righteouSneSS Shall receive hiS reward even peace in thiS world & eternal life in the world to come    
  24 [35] I the Lord have Spoken it & the Spirit beareth record Amen.
